The FING, Mobile Monday and me
The FING (Fondation Internet Nouvelle Génération, or New Generation Internet Foundation) is France's leading hi-tech think-tank and, together with Silicon Sentier, one of the organisations responsible for bringing the Mobile Monday concept to France.
I visited the offices of the FING on Rue Amelot this morning for a very interesting chat, the result of which is that I can now reveal that Stuart Mudie Communications is going to be assisting Mobile Monday France with their communications in English, helping them reach an international audience and - most importantly - play a more active role in the Mobile Monday community worldwide.
Mobile Monday France is just getting off the ground (their second meeting will take place next week and will feature presentations from Richard Sedgwick and Richard van Beckhoven of Motricity, Patrick Vautier, marketing director of the RATP, and Rodrigo Sepúlveda of vpod.tv) so it's an exciting time to start working with them. As I said during our meeting, the best thing for me about getting involved in this project is that my participation will guarantee I'll be able to attend all the Mobile Monday France events - for the first meeting in December, it was only a matter of days before they had to start putting people on a waiting list.
In any case, whatever we end up doing together, I have a feeling it's going to be a lot of fun!
