Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) said first-quarter net profit fell on the back of lower revenues. For the three months ended 30 June, the state-run telco's net profit fell to INR1.10 billion (USD27.13 million) from INR1.18 billion last year, on revenues that dipped to INR11.95 billion from INR12.72 billion in the same period of 2006. MTNL reported a rise in income from mobile services to INR2.16 billion from INR1.79 billion.
