A few tidbits of interest from last week Business Week

I was in Russia last week doing some PR with Ericsson amongst other things. On my way back to Hong Kong I was at the Moscow airport and was stunned to find a Western news stand which did not carry the Economist (in this day and age, in a supposedly European country? Shame!). Well, I then reluctantly bought a copy of Business Week to read on the plane..  It (BW issue April 7, 2008) had a few items of interest.

There is a game show that launched in March in America at Popjax.com. This is user-generated questions for a web gameshow that gives awards between 250 and 1,000 dollars to the winners. Sounds like a reasonable idea, of interest to our readers. The gameshow is the brainchild of Doug Barry, son of famed US host Jack Barry of Tic Tac Dough and Twenty One.

Lego is developing an MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) where avatars are similar to the lego people (thus not dramatically unlike Habbo characters on Habbo Hotel or even the Mini-Me characters of Cyworld). Gamers can also build lego structures together. Sounds like my kind of game ha-ha..

Oh, then there was a mention on an Apple story, that Steve Jobs has already announced a corporate version of the iPhone (sorry I hadn't caught that before). I hope that means a "real" keypad so the iPhone can send SMS texts one-handed..

PS - of course I picked up a copy of the latest Economist at Hong Kong airport to read on the fast train downtown..
