MOTODEV Studio

Motorola is making it possible for more mobile web developers to create new applications for their mobile devices. The new plug-ins that Motorola is developing will allow mobile web developers to create applications compatible with a wider variety of Motorola supported platforms. The new line of development platform tools mobile web developers will be using is MOTODEV Studio. Some applications that will be supported include Symbian/UIQ, WebUI, mobile Linux platforms.

MOTODEV Studio, which was created using an open framework enabled by Eclipse, is a development system that will allow developers to define requirements for Motorola platforms, test their applications, debugging, and then deploy them once they are ready, just to name a few of MOTODEV’s capabilities. These tools will allow developers to work within one platform throughout the entire creative process. Developers will be able to create platform-specific programs and applications that will operate on Motorola devices. As Motorola and Eclipse work together on these processes, they are creating an environment for developers that provides the best possible working and development environment

The MOTODEV Studio will include MOTODEV Studio for Java ME, MOTODEV Studio for UIQ, MOTODEV Studio for WebUI, and MOTODEV Studio for Linux. This variety of compatibilities will feature updated versions of creative applications for mobile application developers and the ability to create new applications for a variety of Motorola handsets including the MOTO Z8 and Z10. These new services were introduced this month at JavaOne in San Francisco as well as at Motorola’s general session.
