Swedish equipment vendor Ericsson has won a contract from Indonesian mobile operator Telkomsel to supply it with a Mobile Softswitch Solution (MSS), including Ericsson’s new mobile switching centre (MSC) Server Blade Cluster. The deal will enable Telkomsel to provide a common core network platform for both its GSM and W-CDMA networks and boost network capacity, performance and coverage, Ericsson said. Under the three-year agreement Ericsson will also provide services including network deployment and integration. No financial details were disclosed.
