Bahrain Telecoms Company (Batelco) has launched an IP-based international direct dial (IDD) service, VoIP 122, allowing its fixed line and mobile customers to make discounted international VoIP calls by dialing the 122 prefix. Registration for the service is free, and eliminates the previous requirement to purchase pre-paid VoIP calling cards.
