D-Link into VoIP Services
D-Link, primarily known as a consumer WiFi vendor, is also the developer of the VoiceCenter phone system, a VoIP solution. Today D-Link announced a partnership with Cbeyond, a voice and broadband Internet provider to serve small businesses with IP voice solutions.
The D-Link VoiceCenter is suited for small businesses requiring up to 50 phones. Their phone handsets feature auto discovery and one-touch access to parking, retrieving, transferring, voice dialing other employees and voice dialing personal contacts.
Retail prices for the VoiceCenter system are: $2,499.99 for the DVX-2000MS-5 (5 phones), $3,199.99 for the DVX-2000MS-10 (10 phones), $339.99 for the DVG-3104MS 4-port PSTN gateway, and $139.99 for the DPH-125MS IP phone. VoiceCenter is available through D-Link’s network of value added resellers and the company’s online store.
VoiceCenter runs on Microsoft’s Response Point software with Service Pack 1, with simple configuration and easy usage.
“This partnership with Cbeyond is part of our aggressive efforts to introduce more Value Added Resellers (VARs) selling the benefits and cost-effectiveness of VoiceCenter, in particular, and VoIP phone services in general,” said Keith A. Karlsen, executive vice president, D-Link Systems.
Cbeyond’s services include more than 30 productivity-enhancing applications, such as Hosted Microsoft Exchange, BlackBerry, secure desktop and broadband laptop access. Its BeyondVoice with SIPconnect service is an integrated package of local and long distance voice, high-speed Internet and mobile services that leverages the SIPconnect specification to interoperate with IP-PBX phone systems, like VoiceCenter.
The system features include Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) trunking with Direct Inward Dialing (DID)-based inbound call routing to extensions. Other features include voice-activated dialing and voicemail access, voice-activated feature control, built-in auto-provisioning configuration, call-forwarding, call hold, call park and pickup, 3-way call conferencing, click-to-dial, paging system interface, and administrative reports.
